Character spotlight – Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (Dec 1941).
Her 1st origin was that she was sculpted from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta (Queen of the Amazons). Hippolyta then asked Aphrodite that her sculpture be given life, which she granted.  Later the other Gods bestowed on the newborn various gifts (Strength, flight, speed, etc).
In recent years, she is depicted as the daughter of Zeus (making her a Demi God) jointly raised by Queen Hippolyta and her Aunts Antiope and Menalippe.  Her official title is Princess Diana of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta.  However, she uses the name Diana Prince as her civilian identity.  Wonder Woman possesses an arsenal of powerful weapons, such as a Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible braclets (aka bracelets of submission), a tiara and a range of other advance items based on Amazon advanced technology.
Did you know that Wonder Woman is about 5,000 years old?
