DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – CW’s Newest Hit?

The CW has been great bringing out shows based on famous comic book characters.  From Smallville (Superman) to the new TV show “The Flash” the CW network has brought to life some of the comic book enthusiast  favorite heroes.  Will they be able to continue this success with their new series Legends of Tomorrow?

So what exactly is this show about?   Unlike some of the other projects of the CW, this show has not been shrouded in mystery.  Developed by Greg Belanti, Marc Gugggenheirm, Andrew Kreisberg and Phil Klemmer, this show is a spinoff from the current CW TV shows Arrow and the Flash.  The premise of the show….to stop Vandal Savage.  Who is Vandal Savage you ask? He is a four-thousand year old immortal that has conquered the world in the distant future.

Renegade Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), recruits several DC characters that made cameo appearances in episodes of Arrow and Flash.  Superhero characters Firestorm (Victor Garber and Franz Drameth), Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), and Hawk girl (Ciara Renee) are selected to fill the roster of this elite team.  However, the Time Master does not limit his picks to just the heroes.  In addition, two villians are included in his enlistment.  They are Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heatwave (Dominic Purcell).

An interesting if not conflicted line-up, the question on everyone’s mind is how will this storyline unfold?

Only time will tell…..no pun intended….

DC legends of Tomorrow will premiere on January 21, 2016.
