Fox’s show “The Gifted” has done it again. In their episode “Imprint” they teased at a major villain coming to the series. For those of you that did not catch the reference, Creed Financial is a reference to Victor Creed aka Sabretooth. However, it is NOT Wolverine’s nemesis that they are referencing…instead it is his son – Graydon Creed.
Graydon Creed is the son of Sabretooth and Raven Darkholme (aka Mystique). Graydon was conceived after Mystique had seduced Sabretooth while impersonating a german spy. Later, after giving birth to Graydon, Mystique gave him up for adoption.
It is important to note that Graydon Creed is NOT a mutant, despite being the child of two mutants. He later discovered his heritage and began to resent all mutants – partly because it was mutants that abandoned him and partly because he himself was NOT a mutant. As a result, he founded the Friends of Humanity (a mutant hate group) and ran for president on an anti-mutant platform. He was nearly elected as President of the United States when he was assassinated on the eve of the election which led to the Operation Zero Tolerance crossover event.
Based on the current situation the mutants are facing on “The Gifted” TV show, it wouldn’t be unexpected if Graydon Creed becomes a new character on the show.
