That is because several different individuals have used the name Jack O&#8217;Lantern.  Each of them criminals with their own personal agendas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1567\" width=\"293\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol1.jpg 211w, https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol1-141x300.jpg 141w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The original Jack O\u2019Lantern was Jason Macendale.  Macendale was an ex-CIA agent who turned to a life of crime, and was mostly associated with the Hobgoblin.  And like Hobgoblin, Jason Macendale was an enemy of Spider-Man. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"434\" height=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol3.jpg 434w, https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol3-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 434px) 100vw, 434px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later a mercenary by the name of Steven Levins took on the name of Jack O&#8217;Lantern.  He worked as a hero hunter for Baron Zemo&#8217;s Thunderbolts (Civil War Storyline) and was killed by the Punisher.  He was later resurrected as a clone by the Jackal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"360\" height=\"502\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1569\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Levins was killed, a duo working for Norman Osborn used the name calling himself &#8220;Mad Jack.&#8221;  It was later revealed that &#8220;Mad Jack&#8221; was Daniel Berkhart (aka Mysterio) and Maguire Beck.  Eventually Berkhart returned to his Mysterio persona and left Beck to continue on as &#8220;Mad Jack.&#8221;  However, Beck was eventually defeated and arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1570\" width=\"349\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.hicollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jol2-198x300.jpg 198w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 349px) 100vw, 349px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was during the Dark Reign storyline that Steven Levin&#8217;s brother took up the mantle of Jack O&#8217;Lantern.  Mr. Levins as he was referred to committed murder as part of a satanic ritual to gain superpowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jack O&#8217; Lantern is alot like the Green Goblin and Hobgoblin, wherein he rides a glider and has the same gadgets and weaponry (pumpkin bombs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>The character of Jack O\u2019Lantern has had several reiterations throughout the comics.
