Black Canary first appeared in Flash #86 (Aug 1947).
Her history has been one of undercover crime fighter, JSA and JLA member, and lover/partner to Green Arrow. Her origin and identity has also been changed over the years…First in the golden age the black canary was Dinah Drake crime fighter partnered with Gotham detective Larry Lance. Then in the silver age comics she was portrayed as Dinah Laurel Lance the daughter of the original black canary. And in 2011, Dinah Drake Lance a combination of the two whose power is derived from alien experimentation on her DNA.
Did you know that Black Canary was originally from Earth 2 and moved to Earth 1 when her husband Larry Lance was killed by the villain Aquaris?
